    Installation

All Concealed Toilet Cisterns work on the same mechanism, most people call it In-Wall-Toilet or Hidaway Cistern, be it Gebritt, Ideal Standard, Armitage Shanks, Grohe, etc, etc. A push-button concealed toilet which has just decided to stop flushing, and you noticed that water was trickling into the pan, this is because most toilets now have internal overflow gone were those days when we have overflows sticking out of the wall and when anything goes wrong the walls get stained. This trickling can get worse most of the time and the toilet might even Pack up, this is very annoying let alone the amount of money this will be costing you in water bills.

Visit for all The Cause; The main problem is that because water is constantly discharging into the bowl it’s not reaching the fill level so the flush won’t work. Diagnose and Repair: The first thing to look at is the Dual Flush Valve of the concealed Cistern, and how do you get to this Flush Valve?

You will have to get the Chrome Flush Plates off first for easy access, please note there are literally hundreds of different types out there but you cannot repair them without making an access through the Flush Plate. You will need to remove the panel that holds the button (Flush Plate), it’s about 20cm high by 80cm long, they are usually quite well clipped into place, a good tug with a bit of leverage if you can slip a blade behind it should do it.

The front panel is held on by flush mount fittings, pull the panel upwards to release – you may need a bit of leverage though to get the fittings to separate. There is a cable attached at the back of the push button that can be unclipped, once you get the panel off once this is done your concealed Cistern is ready to be repaired. Get hold of the Dual Flush Valve which is the big thing in the middle twist it anti-clockwise and it should come off in your hand, Pull it out and check the rubber thick black washer, 9 out of 10 this might be what’s causing the leak and making it not to Flush Properly. Replace this washer by peeling it off and whilst you are on it we recommend to change the Diaphragm in the Fill Valve which is the Inlet Valve, as this can also cause the constant drip into the Pan, this diaphragm is very easy to replace as well. To change the Diaphragm all you have to do is click open where the float arm is connect to the inlet valve anti clockwise and this comes off in your hands the diaphragm is the one with the red nipple with ridges on it replace this with a new one and that’s all done this should do the trick.
